Thursday TV Wrap: All’s Fair In Love & War As The Bachelor Finale Peaks At Just Under 900,000

A significant 879,000 metro viewers tuned in to a rather emotional Bachelor finale on Thursday night, which saw Locky Gilbert choose Irena Srbinovska over Bella Varelis, according to OzTAM numbers.

While Nine and Seven did beat 10 in primary channel share (18.1 per cent, 17.5 per cent and 17.2 per cent respectively), 10 did top key demos with 24.9 per cent in the 25-54 range, and 31.0 per cent in 16-39 range.

Network 10’s head of programming Daniel Monaghan said: “Locky’s search for love was a hit with Australians across all screens. The 2020 season of The Bachelor Australia dominated social media every time it went to air, recorded huge BVOD and live streaming numbers, and ranked #1 in its timeslot on broadcast TV.

“Thanks to the wonderful team at 10 and Warner Bros for their hard work and ingenuity in very challenging circumstances.

“Special thanks as well to our partners and sponsors for their incredible support and the highly creative and effective ideas and integrations they brought to this year’s series,” he said.

Over at Seven, news did 1.02m, The Chase did 543,000, Home and Away did 516,000 and Sunrise did 276,000.

Nine news did 952,000, ACA did 633,000, Hot Seat did 461,000 and NRL did 314,000.

10’s The Bachelor finale averaged 694,000, Gogglebox did 654,000 The Project did 514,000, while 10 News First did 326,000.

Finally, ABC news did 771,000, 7.30 did 516,000 and Escape from the City did 296,000. Meanwhile, SBS’ The World’s Most Scenic Railway Journeys did 390,000,
