ACM Expands Metro Footprint With Launch Of Northern Beaches Review
ACM has confirmed that it will launch a new local glossy magazine in the Northern Beaches region of Sydney on October 7.
To help tailor the product around the unique lifestyle of the northern beaches, ACM has appointed northern
beaches local and publishing veteran Kate Cox (pictured) to lead the new magazine.
Executive Chairman Antony Catalano, said: “It’s fantastic to be launching this publication in what is such an
important part of the Sydney market and adds another quality title to the ACM stable.”
On Cox’s appointment, Catalano added: “Kate brings with her a wealth of journalism experience having been editor of publications such as The Sun-Herald and Sunday Life, but importantly knows how to find the local stories that people want to read through her time as a breaking news reporter covering everything from crime to entertainment to property”.
Cox said: “This is a dream opportunity to help launch a product in the area that is so close to my heart. The
ACM team is investing not only in me but in the entire community and I can’t wait to launch this beautiful, relevant, exciting news and lifestyle magazine. It’s so refreshing to see a company committed to local news and, crucially, helping to support local journalism.
“With ‘Love Where You Live’ as our mantra, we are aiming to do things differently to a traditional local newspaper.
“We’ve taken the learnings from our success of The Weekly Review in Melbourne to combine local news, people and events with lifestyle content and of course the best in local real estate.”
ACM Chief Revenue Officer, Tony Kendall, who has been a key driver of this publishing initiative added: “We’ll be doing our bit to help keep the community informed and connected and provide a platform for businesses throughout the area to connect with local audiences, as well as provide local employment opportunities.”
The Northern Beaches Review will benefit from the extensive resources of ACM’s 170 titles across the country as
well as access to its large sales force and its national-wide team of more than 600 journalists.
Critically, the new publication will link to ACM’s rapidly expanding digital focus across its 135 websites, which combined with print now capture an audience of more than 7.7m viewers per month. It will also enable the audience to access the 1.5m monthly audience through ACM’s shareholding and partnership with one of country’s most visited real estate portals, realestateview.com.au.
With property a key pillar to the content strategy, it also presents an opportunity to build awareness and
penetration of realestateview.com.au in the Sydney market. ACM and realesateview.com.au chief marketing
officer Paul Tyrrell confirmed that “the realesateview.com.au brand will lend itself to both the northern beaches masthead and the property section of the new magazine.”
“We feel the time is right to push into the Sydney market with our bundled offer of print, the Today Acquire digital marketing tool and listings on realestateview.com.au. We’ve proven through our regional pilots that by combining these assets we are able to reach buyers at all stages along their path to purchase,” Tyrrell said.
