DiDi Partners With Urban List For Make It A Date Campaign

DiDi Australia has partnered with lifestyle publisher Urban List for its Make It A Date campaign, encouraging Australians to reconnect and commit to meaningful time with one another as COVID-19 restrictions lift across cities.

The collaboration sees Urban List provide curated in-app destinations and venue recommendations to inspire Aussies to ‘make it a date’ and help support local businesses, many of whom have experienced economic struggles through the health crisis.

As restrictions begin to ease across much of Australia,DiDi and Urban List’s partnership aims to help support local businesses whilst reconnecting with those most important to us. The creative campaign illustrates multiple ways to ‘Make It A Date’ and support your local, covering dining spots and fun activities across Brisbane, Sydney and Perth to encourage Aussies to explore their cities safely once again, with hopes to bring this to Melbourne when appropriate as well.

As part of the Make It A Date campaign, DiDi and Urban List have launched ‘Urban List Recommends’ a curated list of Urban List’s top date destinations in Brisbane, Sydney and Perth, accessible by searching ‘URBANLIST’ in the DiDi app. To help with making reconnecting with friends and family more affordable DiDi is offering 15 percent off Express rides, from 2 – 16 July to ‘Urban List Recommends’ destinations.

The ‘Urban List Recommends’ feature showcases a variety of iconic as well as lesser-known hot spots. From winter igloos at Cargo Bar in Sydney, to a gin masterclass at Gold Coast’s Wildflower Gin, an artistic experience at Brisbane’s Cork and Chroma, or drinks in an old bank vault at Perth’s Foxtrot Unicorn, riders will have easy access to the ultimate city guide of go-to destinations.

DiDi Australia Head of Marketing Douglas Toy said: “As we begin to recover from what has been an unprecedented few months, the Make It A Date campaign aims to reconnect Aussies with not only each other, but also importantly with local businesses that need our support. We are excited to partner with Urban List to bring this to life, and together we hope to inspire riders to commit to meaningful experiences and safely explore their own cities with safe and affordable rides from DiDi.”

“With safety being top of mind for Australians in this new normal,  the ‘DiDi Care’ product line, which offers Aussies access to our highest standards of hygiene for added peace of mind, is also available for those that prefer it.”

Urban List Founder and CEO, Susannah George said: “We are so proud to partner with DiDi on this campaign, helping to stimulate activity and spend across Australian cities — crucial for the recovery of our local businesses. It’s a pleasure to collaborate with a company who, like us, wants to see Australians back out enjoying everything their cities have to offer, and has found a way to combine that with genuine support for the small business sector.”
