Sunday TV Wrap: Fans Flock To Sunday Arvo Footy

Both yesterday afternoon’s NRL and AFL games enjoyed good TV audiences, as locked out fans turn to the telly.

Seven’s AFL coverage pulled 435,000, while the Nine’s NRL did 406,000. This, of course, was OzTAM metro numbers and doesn’t include pay TV viewers or those watching in pubs or clubs.

In the battle of the evening’s entertainment shows, 10’s MasterChef took bragging rights with 978,000 viewers. Nine’s The Voice did 809,000 and Seven’s Big Brother had 695,000.

Overall, Nine had a comfortable Sunday night win taking home 30.2 per cent of all of last night’s eyeballs (all channels). Seven did 24.3 per cent, 10 had 21.8 per cent, the ABC pulled 15.3 per cent and SBS managed 8.4 per cent.

In the battle of the 6pm news bulletins, Seven (1.2 million) beat Nine (1.051 million). 60 Minutes had an okayish 697,000.

10’s highlights included The Sunday Project (531,000), FBI: Most Wanted (338,000) and 10 News First (254,000).

The ABC’s evening ran this way: 7pm news (752,000), Grand Designs (536,000) and Operation Buffalo (463,000).
