New Zealand TV Presenter “Deeply Sorry” Over Spectacularly Sh*t Jacinda Ardern Cake

A New Zealand TV presenter has gone viral for failing to capture NZ Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern in cake form.

Lauren Daniel wanted to pay tribute to her hero, so decided to try her hand at baking her into a cake while in coronavirus lockdown.

In an Instagram post, Daniel said it was common knowledge not to “bake your heroes”, but wanted to give it a go anyway.

And, well, maybe she should have heeded that sage piece of advice because her attempts, while sweet, are truly shocking.

Daniel wrote she was “deeply sorry” over the failed cake.

“I truly tried my best with what I had available … it’s made from another NZ icon lolly cake,” she added.

The cake appears to be modelled on the cover of the PM’s recent biography, featuring lipstick, licorice hair, blue candy eyes and perhaps most unfortunately… lolly teeth that look disturbingly real.

While people mocked the attempts, they also praised her for trying.

One Instagram user commented: “At least we now know what our PM would look like if she had a crack habit?”
