Box Office Wrap: Sci Fi/Horror Film The Invisible Man Posts $2.5M On Opening Weekend

The Invisible Man had a strong weekend debut, opening to 146,281 Aussies and accumulating $2,526,499 at the box office.

Starring Elisabeth Moss, The Invisible Man is written and directed by Leigh Whannell. It’s a contemporary adaptation of the novel of the same name by H. G. Wells and a reboot of The Invisible Man film series. It follows a woman who, after the suicide of her abusive rich boyfriend, believes she is being stalked by him.

According to Val Morgan, it is the 8th biggest opening weekend of 2020 to date.

In second spot was Sonic The Hedgehog with 128,269 admits and cumulative of $9,230,079 at the box office. Sonic the Hedgehog closes in on double digit box office for its 3rd weekend in market, currently the 7th highest grossing title of 2020.

Based on the famous TV series, Next was Miss Fisher and the Crypt of Tears with 60,506 weekend admits and a total of $1,244,664 at the box office.

The Call of the Wild came in fourth spot 46,308 weekend admits and a total of $1,634,703 at the box office.

Number five, Birds of Prey, with 44,710 weekened admits and $10,011,190 at the box office to date.
