Tuesday TV Wrap: Harry & Meghan Doco Does Reasonable Numbers For 10

If anything tests the mood for a republic among Australians it has to be a Royal tour. Failing that, it has to a Royal doco on the telly.

And read what you will into constitutional change after 419,000 viewers tuned in to 10’s Harry & Meghan: An African Journey last night.

10’s other newbie, One Born Every Minute, debuted to 325,000.

Still, baby Archie clearly didn’t bother The Block, which did 917,000 last night according to OzTAM metro numbers and was the most watched show of the night.

Meanwhile, Love Island is proving an oxymoron, not getting much viewer love posting just 328,000 last night (main channel).

Nine won the night with 32 per cent of the audience share (all channels). Seven took second with 27.7 per cent, 10 did 17.8 , the ABC had 13.8 per cent and SBS did 8.6 per cent.

In the battle of the 6pm news bulletins, Seven (892,000) beat Nine (789,000). ACA did 751,000.

For breakfast, Sunrise (262,000) trounced Today (188,000).

Seven’s The Chase had 484,000 and Nine’s Hot Seat pulled 432,000.

Other highlights for 10 included The Project (439,000) and 10 News First (298,000).

Meanwhile, Seven’s Bride & Prejudice can’t seem to find too much viewer love, again it struggled to 484,000.

The ABC’s evening ran this way: 7pm news (607,000), 7.30 (545,000), Foreign Correspondent (405,000) and Catalyst (284,000).

Best for SBS was once again English waterways, Building Britain’s Canals doing 241,000.
