P@rn Plays On Digital Billboard & An Asics Store Window After Separate Hack Attacks

[B&T warns that this article deals with material of an adult nature that some readers may find offensive.] Digital out of home may have become all-pervading but it appears we still haven’t ironed out the security issues after not one but two screens got hacked with hardcore pornography over the weekend.

In the first instance, an Asics store in the centre of Auckland was hacked and its digital screens in the store’s front window played pornographic films until staff arrived at 10am on Sunday morning to discover the racy video.

Asics immediately apologised via a Facebook post that read: “We would like to apologise to anyone who may have seen this. We are working with our software and online security suppliers to ensure this doesn’t happen again.”

According to reports in the New Zealand Herald, the explicit film was playing for a full nine hours until turned off by staff.

The paper cites security offer Dwayne Hinango who added that “some people were shocked, but others just stopped and watched”.

Meanwhile in Michigan, commuters on the I-75 freeway were treated to some unexpected hardcore lesbian action on Sunday evening after a roadside digital billboard also fell victim to hackers.

“I kind of almost got in an accident,” said an unnamed witness. “I came across a billboard and it was something unusual. I saw two girls. Lesbian porn.

“You could kind of see people started to brake a lot behind me, because I think they were doing the same thing, like a double-take. You don’t see that every day,” he said.

It’s unclear who was responsible for the hack or how long the steamy film played for.

According to police, who are investigating the incident, the company that operates the billboard shut it down the moment it learned what was playing.
