Radio Ratings: Is Alan Actually Untouchable?
Welcome to the sixth GfK metro radio survey of 2019 where we today learned that Alan Jones might actually be untouchable.
While Alan’s brekky show took a measly -0.3 per cent hit, he remained in the number one spot across Sydney’s breakfast spot by a long shot. Sydney’s overall market did experience some movement with a new player in second spot (smoothfm), with ABC Sydney dropping to third spot. 2GB remained in top spot overall. Alan Jones (2GB) is still top dog in Sydney breakfast, while Kyle & Jackie O (KIIS 106.5) remain strong in second, followed by Wendy Harmer and Robbie Buck (ABC Sydney).
The Melbourne market experienced more of a shakeup than its Sydney counterpart, with 101.8 Fox FM and Gold 104.3 playing a game of swapsies for first and second place (Gold is number two while Fox FM is now third). In brekky, ABC Melbourne’s Jacinta Parsons and Sami Shah are back in at number one, while in drive Gold 104.3’s Gavin Miller moved into the top spot from number three last survey.
B&T has created a sweet and snappy rundown for each of the metro markets, so you don’t have to. Check out where the radio industry currently stands below.
