The Simpsons Do Chernobyl! Famous Opening Credits Get Makeover & It’s Harrowing

Foxtel’s recent Chernobyl drama has definitely put the infamous 1986 reactor meltdown firmly back in the spotlight.

Such is the renewed interest following the TV series, Reuters has reported that the Ukrainian city has received a 40 per cent lift in “disaster tourists” flocking to see the remains of the now eerie ghost town.

And the latest to get in on the nuclear disaster-act is none other than The Simpsons.

Well, more to the point, a Russian animation team called Lazy Square who’ve reimagined the cartoon’s famous opening sequence in a very bleak, communist-era way.

A skateboarding Bart gets mugged, Lisa is set upon by truncheon-wielding police and Homer’s doppelgänger proves to be very nasty chap indeed. Check it out below (and you have been warned)…
