Tuesday TV Wrap: Australia-England World Cup Match Pulls 507,000

Nine’s broadcast of the Australia-England World Cup match proved a winner for 9Gem last night with 507,000 cricket fans tuning in for the match according to OzTAM numbers.

The match – won by the Aussies – was the 13th most watched show of the evening and the 7th most watched entertainment show of the night.

On the back of that, Nine handsomely won Tuesday with 37.7 per cent audience share (all channels). Seven had to settle for 25.9 per cent, 10 did 16.6 per cent, the ABC had 12.3 per cent and SBS did 7.5 per cent.

Seven’s 6pm new was the most watched show of the night with 1.089 million. Other standouts for the network were The Chase (638,000), Home And Away (647,000), House Rules (584,000) and Andrew Denton: Interview (404,000).

In the battle for breakfast, Sunrise (282,000) again saw off Today (212,000).

10’s best was MasterChef (581,000), followed by The Project (499,000), 10 News First (365,000) and Todd Sampson’s Body Hack (283,000).

Nine did well with its 6pm news (883,000), ACA (731,000), Hot Seat (519,000) and The Big Bang Theory (409,000).

The ABC’s night ran thus: 7pm news (635,000), 7.30 (474,000), Ask The Doctor (350,000) and Blue Water Empire (263,000).

Best for SBS was Every Family Has A Secret with 301,000.
