Mothers Furious Over Aussie Baby Company’s “Tight Fannies” Social Media Post

Popular Australian baby and toddler supplier, Bubs Warehouse has come under fire for a controversial social media post.

Posted on their Facebook page, which has over 160,000 followers, was a seemingly funny picture of a newborn snoozing with a sign placed on them that read: “C-section babies: keeping fannies tight all around the world… congratulations”.

Bubs Warehouse then captioned the post: “This mum had a vaginal birth, but her friend gave her this card. Awkward.”

Although it seemed as though the company was questioning the sentiment behind the photo – the company still came under fire for posting the photo.

One woman commented: “This is pretty poor. [It] perpetuates the myth that vaginal childbirth is damaging to women… Clearly you feel disempowering women with tasteless memes to make people laugh is okay.”

Another follower simply stated: “Yeah, doesn’t work like that. This post is vulgar.”

With over five thousand comments, the Bubs Warehouse social media team tried to calm the wave of disapproving mothers, however, they have not taken down the post or issued an official apology.
