Reports: Rebel Wilson Puts Blanket Ban On All Fairfax Media

Fairfax Media is today reporting that Aussie actor Rebel Wilson has put a blanket ban on Fairfax Media.

Wilson, who successfully sued Bauer for defamation back in September, is in Australia to promote her latest film Pitch Perfect 3.

Fairfax is reporting that Wilson, 37, has refused a sit-down interview with the publisher, banned it from attending the red carpet and cancelled staff invitations to the premiere.

It’s not exactly clear what is behind Wilson’s actions, however, Fairfax has speculated that it has to do with her proceedings with Bauer and the defamation case.

In 2015, Wilson apparently contacted Fairfax CEO Greg Hywood to have an online article about her removed from its websites that featured her age and an “unflattering” photo of her. However, Hywood refused the request.

Fairfax’s article quotes a confidant of Wilson’s who said: “Obviously there is some history with the cast of the film and at present it is being requested that Fairfax do not attend.

“It is against [Fairfax Media] as a brand in terms of what has gone on at the court case … and there is a number of things that have happened which representatives from Fairfax in terms of testifying against Rebel … it’s nothing personal against … any journalist.”
