KFC BBL Announces Renewed Partnership with Nickelodeon for BBL|07
Cricket Australia has today announced the renewal of the exciting, family-friendly partnership between global kid’s entertainment brand, Nickelodeon and the KFC Big Bash League (BBL).
The new one-year deal follows the success of the partnership during BBL|06 and ensures Nickelodeon will continue to work closely with Cricket Australia to further strengthen the KFC BBL’s position as one of the best family entertainment options in the country this Summer. The partnership will see the roll-out of a range of new and exciting at-match activities, digital promotions and more throughout the upcoming Big Bash season.
For the second year running, Nickelodeon will also be working with CA to bring slime covered fun to the KFC BBL and Rebel WBBL through children’s television programming. The show is set to be hosted by former professional cricket player and Australian Survivor finalist, Lee Carseldine alongside kid-favourite Kristy Best, and will be jam-packed with fun stunts, pranks and jokes a Nickelodeon goes behind the scenes of the BBL and WBBL this summer.
Nickelodeon will be at matches throughout KFC BBL|07 as well as the opening weekend of the Rebel WBBL|03 on 9 and 10 December at North Sydney Oval. Nickelodeon will bring free family entertainment to the grounds and fans at selected Nick Sports matches^ will have the chance to win great prizes including family passes to Nickelodeon Beach at Wet’n’Wild Sydney, or one of two family trips to Nickelodeon Land at Sea World on the Gold Coast with economy airfares, transfers, four nights’ accommodation at Sea World Resort and Water Park and a Family super pass included.
In addition, young fans and families who attend the Nick Sports matches this season will also be able to experience a range of exciting Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles themed Nickelodeon activities. Some of these activities include appearances from the four Turtles (Leonardo, Michelangelo, Donatello and Raphael) and their favourite reporter April O’Neil, Jumbo Inflatable Cricket, Nickelodeon Cricket Kit Giveaways and other fun surprises.
There will also be two exclusive opportunities to win incredible family holidays to the Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards in Los Angeles in March. One Prize will be given away at the W/BBL Final, while the second will be an online campaign running the length of the season. This major prize includes return economy airfares to LA for two adults and two children, transfers, five nights’ accommodation, and four tickets to the Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards.
The digital competition will require fans to sign up to the BBL website OR simply post on their social media channels, using the hash tag #BBLKCA, and post a photo of themselves and their family enjoying a BBL match either at the ground or from home. A winner at the end of each match will be selected to win a $100 BBL store voucher prize, and at the end of the season one of these lucky fans will be in the running to win the Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards experience.
At the W/BBL Final, fans will be picked from the crowd to take part in a competition at-match to win the other family trip to LA for the Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards.
“We are delighted to be partnering with Nickelodeon for the seventh season of the BBL” said Cricket Australia Head of Big Bash League, Kim McConnie. “The relationship with Nickelodeon strengthens our position as one of the best family entertainment options in the country and we can’t wait for them to deliver more fun and enjoyment for our fans this Summer.
“We believe this is going to be one of the most exciting Big Bash seasons to date, and we look forward to bringing the fast-paced on-field action and family friendly off-field atmosphere to our fans across Australia with the support of Nickelodeon”.
Ben Cox, General Manager and Vice President of Nickelodeon Australia and New Zealand is thrilled to be bringing back for another year of blockbuster fun and family entertainment throughout the summer. “Cricket fans can get ready for a whole new Nickelodeon experience on-ground at the BBL this summer when family favourites the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles attend games across the country. As a fans first company, being able to bring Nickelodeon experiences to life is the perfect way for us to continue to connect with kids and families.”
Tickets to the KFC Big Bash League are now on-sale, with tickets from $20 for adults, $5 for kids and family tickets for $42.50, making BBL|07 the seventh consecutive year prices have remained unchanged.
