Potty-mouthed Parrots Prove To Be Powerful Domestic Violence Ad

[Warning: article and video contain language some readers may find offensive] They say never work with children and animals, however, a new ad from Unicef featuring swearing parrots and cockatoos comes with a very sobering message amid the crudeness.

The ad runs like some ubiquitous YouTube clip of the birds spitting out expletives such as “shut the f#ck up, “f#cking son of a bitch” and “I’ll kick your ass”.

However, the ad’s finale brings a message that the birds could have only learned the language in a violent household.

“If a parrot can remember what happens in an abusive home, imagine a child,” the ad concludes.

The creative is the work of Grey New York was released to coincide with Unicef’s global report on violence against children, which found that as many as one in four children across the globe are exposed to domestic violence at home.
