Tuesday Telly Wrap: Survivor Struggles To Find Its Feet, As The Block Nails It For Nine

Nine’s The Block was the standout entertainment show on TV last night pulling in 1.04 million viewers according to overnight OzTam figures.

Arguably the biggest news of the night was Ten’s Australian Survivor that could only manage 600,000 viewers on its third outing which included its first elimination. No means a disaster, but it could start to be giving Ten bosses even more grey hairs. In comparison, Seven’s Mighty Cruise Ships wasn’t far off with 580,000.

On a quiet night of TV generally, Nine’s post-Block comedy programming of True Story With Hamish And Andy (878,00) followed by repeat sets of repeats of Kath & Kim (572,000) saw Nine win the night with 30.1 per cent of the audience share.

Seven was second grabbing 28.5 per cent share, however, its 6pm news bulletin was the most watched show of the night with 1.08 million. The Chase managed 653,000 for the network, while it appears we’ve become bored of Diana 20th anniversary death specials, Diana’s Death: Search For The Truth managing 592,000.

Network Ten managed 18.9 per cent of the night’s audience share, with Survivor and The Project (525,000) its pick.

The ABC’s 7pm news was its standout with 735,000, while the final of Joanna Lumley’s India pulled 521,000. The ABC managing 15.8 per cent audience share, and the SBS pulled in 6.7 per cent.
