Outrage At New Dutch Reality Show That Asks Are Contestants Fat Or Pregnant

Admittedly, a lot of Australian reality shows are licensed versions of overseas shows, but we’re fairly confident a new Dutch program won’t be coming here anytime soon.

The show, Neem Je Zwemspullen Mee (translation: Bring Your Bathing Suit), aired for the first time on Sunday night and asks contestants to guess if women were overweight or pregnant or if their breasts were real or fake, the New York Post has reported.

According to an article on Buzzfeed, the actual pilot was far worse and got contestants to try and guess if people of Asian appearance were Chinese or Japanese.

Naturally, the typically tolerant and inclusive Dutch are outraged at the program and have launched a petition to have Neem Je Zwemspullen Mee taken off air.

However, the show’s producers were having none of it, arguing the program is an interesting social experiment aimed at looking at people’s prejudices. In a statement, the production company explained that “through these satirical settings, we laugh off all forms of prejudices.”
