Pizza Hut Enables Customers To Order Pizza Using Shoes

Pizza Hut has taken ordering a slice to the next level in the US, releasing a set of limited-edition shoes that allow those who wear them to get pizza delivered to their exact location.

The high-top basketball shoes, affectionately named ‘Pie Tops’, have a special button on the tongue which, when pressed, connects to an app that orders pizza using geo-location tracking, according to AdWeek.

The shoes have been released to coincide with March Madness – the premier US college basketball tournament hosted by the NCAA.

Pizza Hut has released a 30-second TVC to promote the new whiz-bang shoes, which features former NBA star Grant Hill.

The idea for the Pie Tops was developed by ad agency Droga5, and were handmade by custom sneaker specialist Dominic Chambrone – also know as The Shoe Surgeon.

AdWeek reported that the exclusive kicks will be given to “influencers and people in the media”, but Pizza Hut fans may also have a chance to win a few pairs too.
