Hotwire Names Mylan Vu As Country Manager For Australia

Hotwire, the global integrated PR and communications consultancy, has named Mylan Vu as Country Manager for Australia, while announcing four innovative Australian client wins across both B2B and consumer briefs in recent months.

Mylan Vu has been promoted from head of client services to country manager, effective immediately, and will lead the Australian Hotwire office and team in Sydney. Hotwire Australia Managing Director, Alexis Wilson, will depart the office in December 2016 to move overseas, following a more than two-year stint that saw Hotwire’s Australian operations grow 40% and take home two industry awards for client work.

Hotwire has also recently been selected by four Australian technology companies to develop and implement PR and communications strategies across the region, adding to its existing portfolio of disruptive and innovative clients.

The new Hotwire Australia clients include Buzinga App Development, a leading app development and innovation consultancy, Cyara, a SaaS platform enabling companies to test the reliability and performance of their customer service technologies, and two recently ASX-listed businesses; Search Party (ASX:SP1), an online recruitment marketplace, and Veriluma (ASX:VRI), Australia’s leading prescriptive analytics software provider that uses quantitative and qualitative information to create actionable insights.

Katelyn Duckworth, marketing manager for Buzinga App Development, selected Hotwire following a competitive assessment of several PR agencies. She said, “Hotwire stood out as a team that truly understands what we are trying to achieve, with the drive and proactive attitude to help us reach our goals strategically. Buzinga has experienced significant growth since being founded in 2012, and we’re excited to be embarking on our next stage of growth and expansion with Hotwire as our communications partner.”

Shira Abel, chief marketing officer for Cyara, commented: “Cyara has a strong presence in Australia and we’ve been aggressively expanding in the US in recent years. It was important for us to work with an agency that is able to support our global ambitions by promoting the profiles of our company and co-founders with our target business and tech audiences in mind. We’re excited to be working with Hotwire to reach these goals. The team has already exceeded our expectations.”

Mylan Vu, country manager for Hotwire Australia, said, “We are thrilled to have been selected by these innovative companies to be a part of their growth journeys. 2017 is set to be an exciting time for Hotwire’s Australian business, and I’m humbled by the opportunity to be leading the local team through its next phase of growth. The biggest opportunities we are seeing are in building on our existing strengths in the B2B and technology sectors, while growing our consumer portfolio and integrated communications offering with clients who are willing to think and act outside the box. We’re an ambitious and adventurous team, and are always keen to speak with industry professionals willing to grow, innovate, or bring something new to their space.”

In October, Hotwire announced the acquisition of Eastwick Communications in the USA, growing the firm’s presence in Silicon Valley and New York and boosting the global firm’s American offering in the heartland of innovation.
