Sexy Ads Banned As Entire City Gives Raunchy Outdoor The Flick

Norway’s third biggest city Trondheim has banned all adverts that feature models in any state of undress claiming it has a negative impact on body image. It also wants any ads that have been retouched, regardless of what’s being sold, to be identified as such.

And Trondheim officials are urging other towns to follow suit and advertisers to get their models to cover-up.

The ban is on all outdoor advertising and covers both male and female models.

But, as anyone who’s travelled through Europe would know (particularly in places like Spain and Italy), European advertising can often be far racier than what would be permitted in Australia.

The official Trondheim policy reads: “No advertising that conveys a false image of the model/models’ appearance and contributes to a negative body image will be permitted.

“As a minimum advertisements in which body shapes have been retouched should be marked as such.”
