Capgemini took its digital service design consultancy, Backelite, to new heights today when it launches its suite of services down under.

The launch of Backelite, which was marked this morning when Capgemini hosted a workshop breakfast alongside Backelite customer, Coca-Cola Amatil and its GM Samantha Mitchell.

Backelite is part of the Capgemini Group and is known for its ability to design “solutions for humans”, as well as a focus on human interaction and end-user expectations at every touch point.

Backelite serves to solve complex business requirements from concept to delivery, with its Australian launch expanding Capgemini’s capabilities in experience strategy, digital design, prototyping and development.

CEO of Capgemini Australia and New Zealand Nicolas Aidoud said of particular importance was Backelite’s ability to deliver at scale and address growing demand for digital design and innovation services.

“With Backelite, we will bring speed to value and innovation to our clients through creativity and technology to build unforgettable digital services,” he said.

Speaking at the event this morning, Mitchell said this partnership benefits Coca-Cola Amatil as “we like to work with one partner” that houses all capabilities.

“We’ve been working with Capgemini for a couple of years now, to understand our audience and align communication avenues,” she said.

“Our Fast Track Tomorrow Today B2B platform was the first thing we worked on with Capgemini, to help move customer ordering online and create a self-service portal.

“We want to be the best at shopping and browsing, and so started working with Capgemini because it was about getting the customer experience right. Our investment needed to be short and sharp, as technology is constantly changing, and has in turn changed the way we partner.”

Susan Beeston, VP, digital services at Capgemini Australia and New Zealand added, “Backelite is integral to our ambition to accelerate digital and will enhance our current capabilities at Capgemini.

“The digital ecosystem is evolving at such a fast pace so it is important to offer our clients a compelling full service solution that can design, create and optimise digital services around our customers’ needs.”

Backelite will operate in collaboration with Capgemini’s consulting arm and marks the creation of a powerful new full-service digital offering that will deliver fresh solutions, creating user experiences across websites, tablets, mobiles and wearables.
