Facebook Pulls In $11.4 Billion In Ad Bucks In The Second Quarter Of 2017

Facebook has today announced a $US9.16 billion ($A11.4 billion) profit in the second quarter of 2017, a massive 47 per cent increase over the same quarter last year ($US6.4 billion).

Mobile now makes up around 87 per cent of the Facebook’s ad revenues, up from 84 per cent in second-quarter 2016.

It also reported an increase in both daily and monthly active users, with daily active users now toalling an average of 1.32 billion in June which was a 17 per cent increase year-on-year.

Monthly active users also increased 17 per cent year-on-year to total 2.01 billion as of the end of June.

The company also revealed its 20,658 employees which was a 43 per cent increase from last year.

Commenting on the results, CEO Mark Zuckerberg said: “We had a good second quarter and first half of the year. Our community is now two billion people and we’re focusing on bringing the world closer together.”
