Creative agency Cheil Australia has announced the appointment of Anam Malik to digital director and Matthew Daunt to the head of client services.

For many years Cheil has assisted Samsung Australia in developing innovative and impactful digital and retail experience strategies with effective results.

The Sydney-based organisation, which is a part of Cheil Worldwide, one of the biggest and top agency networks in the world, is ready to build on its client portfolio by continuing to offer collaborative and creative services in digital innovation, and already has a number of new initiatives planned for 2022.

Malik has joined Cheil Australia with broad and confident industry knowledge, having transitioned from publisher to agency client side.

Prior to Cheil, Malik led digital growth projects across various industries and for a number of international brands such as KFC, Foxtel, Dentsu and Pizza Hut.

Her career highlights include running a global CRO program for American Fast Food corporation Yum! Brands (KFC, Pizza Hut, Taco Bell) and working on identity resolution in data space with one of Australia’s largest media and pay television companies.

As digital director at Cheil Australia, Anam will be responsible for the development and growth of the agency’s digital offering including digital activation, optimisation and CVM.

Malik said: “All the skills learnt from my past endeavours enable me to strategise, execute and optimise digital functions for clients. I look forward to implementing and developing my experience for an agency that is so passionate about digital innovation and growth.

“Cheil Australia also embeds a customer-first approach to their work, and shares my passion for customer journey analytics.

“I am also excited to assist Cheil in dominating the nation’s agency digital experience innovation space by introducing market-first projects and campaigns. Being a people-first company, I look forward to nourishing a growing team of passionate individuals.”

Daunt enters Cheil Australia with wide and varied experience in working with independent and network agencies across all areas of marketing and industries.

Daunt’s international career spans from Saatchi & Saatchi in London, to Paramount Pictures Los Angeles, and M&C Saatchi and BWM Dentsu in Sydney, and even co-running his own creative agency for seven years.

As head of client services he will be responsible for managing the account management team, and working alongside clients’ marcoms, digital and retail departments on both campaign strategy and delivery.

Daunt said: “Cheil has grown significantly over the last 12 months. Now is the perfect opportunity for me to bring the account management team together and continue the positive growth in 2022 and beyond.

“I really look forward to playing my part in Cheil’s plan to expand its client portfolio. In just a little over two weeks I’ve been really impressed by the strength and depth of our team and their drive to expand their skills by collaborating with new and well-established Australian brands.

“This is a growing agency with an array of talented individuals, and I look forward to sharing our innovative work on exciting new projects and campaigns, and driving real results.”
