House Rules wins for Seven with absence of The Voice

With an absence of The Voice on Nine last night, the network’s new love reality show, slotted in to the 7.30pm timeslot failed to scrape the same number of viewers as the singing program.

This opened up the race for Seven’s House Rules which managed to snag the second most watched show of Wednesday night with 1.272 million viewers, just behind Seven News (1.337 million), according to OzTam preliminary ratings.

Nine’s When Love Comes to Town also dropped below Ten’s Masterchef as the cooking show at 7.30pm finding itself in eighth place with 928,000 viewers.

When Love Comes to Town debuted on Tuesday night to 868,000 and managed to nab a place in the top ten shows, however last night saw a slip of 221,000 down to 647,000 viewers and 16th place.

The second episode of the fifth season of Offspring on Ten at 8.30pm last night also didn’t managed to grab as many viewers as the first episode the previous week.

While the drama’s premiere episode without Patrick pulled in 931,000 viewer’s, last night’s episode pulled in 817,000 viewers, coming in ninth place behind Masterchef.

Seven won the night overall with a total combined share of free-to-air viewers of 31.2%, with its primary channel pulling in 23.2%.

Nine was a close second 26.1% overall, with the networks’ main station nabbing 17.6% share.

Ten managed to crack the 20% mark with OzTam showing a total share for the network of 21.2%.

Ten’s main channel grabbed 15.3% of the network’s share.

ABC came in fourth with a total share of 15.8%, ABC1 seeing 9.8%.

SBS came fifth with 5.7% as SBSOne saw 4.5%.
