Australia vs Argentina Is A Winner For SBS With 1.71M Views

SBS continues to benefit from this year’s FIFA World Cup with 1.71 million viewers tuning in to watch Sunday’s Australia v Argentina match. 

The bulk of views (1.26 million) were linear, with a further 448 000  coming in via SBS ON Demand.

This match was the top-rated program – combined linear and digital – across the SBS network for 2022.

England v Senegal was the next most-viewed match in the last week, with an average audience of 418,000 viewers. This match drew the second highest average linear television audience at 247,000 viewers, with an average BVOD audience of 171,000.

In total, the 2022 FIFA World Cup  live matches have achieved a linear reach on the SBS primary channel and SBS Viceland of 6.2 million viewers to date.

Across the first three weeks of the competition, Australian audiences have watched 41 million hours of tournament content on linear television, and more than 20 million hours digitally, including live matches, replays, mini matches and highlights to 8 December, via on SBS On Demand.
