Simon Hobbs Joins Icon Agency As Executive Director Of Digital

Simon Hobbs, a Drupal veteran with more than 30 years of experience, is joining integrated communications firm, Icon Agency, as executive director of digital.

In this newly created role, Hobbs will lead Icon’s digital department with a focus on new business development and optimising the team’s processes and systems.

Hobbs brings significant management experience, having previously grown multiple teams across agency and government. His appointment follows two years of significant growth which saw Icon double in size and revenue, and earn 41 award nominations and 22 wins since the start of 2021.

Hobbs previously consulted for the New South Wales government for two years, focussing on the complex content platform that is the nsw.gov.au website.

Icon continues to expand its portfolio of website design, development and content strategy projects, especially within the government sector.

“Adding Simon to our team reflects our commitment to constant improvement. In this next phase of growth, his expertise and leadership will help our team operate at peak performance,” said Icon’s managing director of digital, Chris Dodds.

“Simon’s extensive experience with government projects strongly complements our strength and history of government work. We’re excited to add his knowledge and skills to our growing team.”

Hobbs said Icon’s expansion, ethical policies and focus on innovation appealed.
