Lisa Wilkinson’s Logies Speech has ended in Wilkinson being embroiled in a very high-profile legal saga.

Wilkinson’s Logies acceptance speech has ultimately led to a delay in Brittany Higgins’ trial after the accused lawyers successfully argued that acceptance speech had been so highly publicised it will impact the accused, Bruce Lehremann’s ability to have a fair trial.

However, the legal drama hasn’t ended there; now, experts are weighing in on if Wilkinson’s speech could have been, “went against the standard in this branch of law.”

According to Sky News, President of the Australian bar association, Matthew Collins appeared on Seven’s Sunrise yesterday to weigh in on the matter and said: “It’s certainly possible that the authorities will be looking at speech she made to the Logies and assessing that speech went against the standard which applies in this branch of the law.

“The standard is, did anything that she did have a tendency to interfere with the administration of justice?”

The Australian also reported that Collins declared it was a “serious possibility,” that the 10 star could be charged by the authorities with contempt of court.

Interestingly, The Australian also reported that Collins has been asked to represent Wilkinson and Channel 10.

Naturally, Twitter has also weighed in on the saga.

It’ll be interesting to see what happens as this story keeps evolving.
