WhatsApp To Be Pulled From iPhone 5 And iPhone 5c Devices

London, UK - August 01, 2018: The buttons of WhatsApp, Facebook, Messenger, Snapchat and Messages on the screen of an iPhone.

WhatsApp have announced that they will be pulling the plug on support for the iOS 10 and 11 systems, which means that the app will no longer be available on the devices that operate on that format, such as the iPhone 5 and 5c.

As times change, so do the devices that we use, with the iPhone 5 and 5c no longer being as popular as they once were among users. According to a new notification sent to all users who still use devices based on the iOS 10 and 11-based phones – as few as they may be – from October 24th, WhatsApp no longer be available for them.

The company has released further guidelines towards users in which it recommends they upgrade to an iOS 12 or newer operated device. That means that iPhone 5s, 6, 6s or newer device users will still have access to it as normal – or until they decide to move on from there as well.

The iPhone 5 and 5s are no longer for sale of course and at this point, they’re even considered a rare find (although the author of this article did find one in his drawer the other day!)

But WhatsApp is widely regarded as one of the most reliable applications for communication between family members, friends or even business partners, alongside Messenger and Viber.
