Revealed: How Much Instagram’s Richest Get Paid Per Post

Cristiano Ronaldo demonstrated his immense influence recently, when his very public snubbing of Coca-Cola saw the company’s value tumble $5.2 billion.

And it turns out this influence extends to social media, with a new report suggesting the Portuguese footballer can command more than anyone else for a sponsored Instagram post.

Hopper – which collects social media data – has compiled its Instagram Rich List for 2021, ranking Instagram celebrities based on how much money they could collect for a single sponsored post.

It found that Ronaldo’s ‘cost per post’ sits at around $US1.6 million ($2.13 million).

This meant Ronaldo narrowly edged out last year’s winner Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson, who had a cost per post of $US1.52 million ($2.02 million).

Rounding out the top 10 was Ariana Grande, Kylie Jenner, Selena Gomez, Lionel Messi, Beyonce Knowles, Justin Bieber and Kendell Jenner – all of whom can comfortably command over $US1 million per post.

And while the top two on the list might be males, Hopper found that females (56 per cent) were more dominant across the top 100.

The 2021 list also suggests Instagram wealth is starting to spread more evenly around the globe. Africa and Asia now account for 25 per cent of this year’s list, having accounted for just 15 per cent in 2020.

There were two Australians in the top 100, with Iggy Azalea finishing in 64th spot and Tammy Hembrow in 77th.
