celebrity chef Manu Feildel, best known for hosting My Kitchen Rules, will see his contract with Seven end this month.

My Kitchen Rules, initially a ratings juggernaut for Seven, ended in 2020. Despite persistent rumours that the show would make a comeback in 2022, in a May interview with TV BlackBox, Seven’s director of programming Angus Ross said, “we’d like to revisit the format at some point, but at the moment it feels too soon.”

“It’s certainly not anywhere in next year’s schedule.”

MKR’s other former judge, Pete Evans (pictured right), has since become know for his COVID-19 conspiracy theories and healthcare claims. Last month, he was fined nearly $80,000 by the ACCC for unlawful advertising.

Feildel was also a judge on the 2019 season of Australia’s Got Talent, though he will not reprise his role this year, with only Shane Jacobson returning.

The judging panel will now include Alesha Dixon, Kate Ritchie and Neil Patrick-Harris.

In an interview with the Sydney Morning Herald, Feildel described his life as being at a “crossroad”.

“Either TV is going to stop and I’m going to keep on going with my businesses that I’ve had or television is going to change its course. I’m at peace with whatever happens to me.”

However, Feildel will be appearing as a contestant in SAS Australia, which is set to air later in the year.
