The Red Republic Announces New In-House Promotions

The Red Republic has announced a string of senior promotions within their team, including head of PR and head of social for HERO Network’s integrated Creative, Content and PR agency.

After joining the agency in October 2020, Louise Cargo (pictured above) has been promoted to head of PR.

Cargo has spent more than 15 years working with start-ups, small businesses and global organisations in Ireland, New Zealand and Australia. She has worked for several large brands including Panasonic, PlayStation, ANZ and Johnson & Johnson.

Elly Scales has been promoted to head of social and will lead The Red Republic’s social offering.

Scales has previously worked for brands such as Samsung Mobile, United Nations Association of Australia, Tourism Fiji, New Caledonia Tourism, Danone, Western Sydney University and Fantastic Furniture.

Simona Varga has been promoted to account director and will lead The Red Republic’s Brisbane office.

Varga has five years’ experience in a diverse range of fast-paced creative and communications industries, having worked with large scale brands such as Urbex, Suncorp Group and Brisbane Racing Club.

The senior team will work closely with managing partners Bob Price and Dominic Walsh, who head up the Hero Group’s SMART and The Red Republic across Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne.

Ben Lilley, founder of Hero Group, said: “Louise, Elly and Simona have all played an integral part in where The Red Republic is today.

“The Red Republic is a perfect complement to Hero’s offering, and we truly provide a fully integrated agency model. We’re excited to leverage The Red Republic’s offering further through Hero’s range of clients.”

The promotions follow a positive year for The Red Republic, which has partnered with several brands including AMP Capital’s Quay Quarter precinct, Amaysim, Urbex and LSKD.
