Charges Laid Over Infamous ‘Roxy Is A C***’ Graffiti

Charges Laid Over Infamous ‘Roxy Is A C***’ Graffiti

The man who wrote ‘Roxy is a c–t’ on the side of Roxy Jacenko’s Paddington office has been charged with aggravated intentionally marking premises without consent.

Back in 2019, Jacenko – who owns Sweaty Betty PR – revealed the obscene message had been left for her on the premises and asked her followers for assistance in finding the culprit/culprits.

CCTV footage soon emerged of two men leaving Jacenko the message, although neither person could be positively identified.

Bitcoin trader Anthony Hess has previously been accused of being one of the men involved in the incident.

However, Hess has vehemently denied the accusations and the court has previously denied an application made by Jacenko for a restraining order against the man.

But in a shock twist, police have found evidence that shows the vandalism taking place.

According to the Herald, police raided the home of controversial street artist Anthony Lister for “an unrelated matter” in March 2020.

While making the raid, police found footage of both Lister and Hess leaving the graffiti that was taken on Lister’s GoPro.

Lister is currently facing unrelated charges of sexual assault and has also been charged with drug offences.

Lister’s lawyer Bryan Wrench has said he will defend the charges.

Wrench went on to tell the Herald that the ‘Roxy Is A C–t’ piece “is certainly not a Lister”.

Lister’s actual artwork has previously been likened to that of anonymous British artist Banksy.

The emergence of the GoPro footage has also seen Hess issued with a summons to appear in Downing Centre Local Court on June 8.

During the trial last year, Hess denied the accusations, telling the judge: “Gay guys don’t do graffiti… I’m not a graffiti artist … I’m your typical, friendly gay guy.”

Roxy’s 2019 graffiti saga was just part of a tumultuous year for the PR maven. In October of 2019, Janeko led the hunt for a ‘poo jogger‘ who had been caught on CCTV defecating outside of the Sweaty Betty offices.
