Wednesday TV Wrap: MasterChef’s 1.04 Million Has 10 Go From Simmer To Boil

Network 10 delivered a one-two combo to rivals last night that had it desperately close to winning Wednesday.

MasterChef pulled an impressive 1.04 million last night and then that was backed-up by its Aussie thriller The Secrets She Keeps that did 550,000 viewers according to OzTAM metro numbers.

That gave 10 25.6 per cent of all of last night’s eyeballs. However, it wasn’t enough to knock over Seven (26.5 per cent) but enough to relegate Nine (24.4 per cent) to third.

The ABC’s top evening of comedy got it 16 per cent of the audience share, while SBS did 7.5 per cent.

Other standouts for 10 included The Project with 578,000 and 10 News First with 388,000.

The ABC’s CV-19 spoof – ably led by Ray Martin – the very hilarious At Home Alone Together continues to do well, pulling 519,000 for the public broadcaster.

Other highlights for Aunty included its 7pm news bulletin 753,000. However, a lot of viewers clearly couldn’t be bothered to hang around for 7.30 – it only mustered 556,000.

Julia Zemiro’s Home Delivery – featuring comic Celeste Barber – did 504,000 and The Weekly With Charlie Pickering managed 486,000.

The evening’s victor, Seven’s, evening went this way: 6pm news (1.193 million), The Chase (709,000), Home And Away (653,000) and Britain’s Got Talent (526,000).

Best for Nine was its 6pm news bulletin (1.093 million), ACA (781,000), Hot Seat (595,000) and Taronga: Who’s Who In The Zoo (463,000).

SBS’ best was Tony Robinson: Egyptian Tomb Hunting that pulled a mummified 194,000.
