Carly Appoints New Head Of Marketing
Car subscription service Carly has appointed Jessica Gutierrez as Head of Marketing.
Operated by Collaborate Corporation, an ASX-listed company that also runs peer-to-peer car- rental provider DriveMyCar, Carly is a safe and low-risk alternative to buying a car or committing to a loan or lease. It allows subscribers to choose a car to suit their lifestyle without hefty upfront fees and long-term lock-in contracts.
Jessica joins the Carly team with more than 10 years’ experience in both traditional and digital marketing, having kicked off her career in positions with both media and creative agencies before moving to the client side in digital and e-commerce marketplace roles. These included stints with CareerOne and StubHub, formerly owned by eBay and recently sold to their largest competitor Viagogo in a $4.05 billion cash deal. Jessica is passionate about digital innovation and technology, particularly in the software as a service (SaaS) and e-commerce marketplace space.
In her new role, Jessica will report directly to Carly’s CEO Chris Noone and will be tasked with taking the brand to the next level as it continues to offer consumers, car dealers and manufacturers a unique vehicle access and revenue solution.
Chris Noone says, “Jessica brings an armoury of skills across brand, e-commerce and digital marketing that will be vital in accelerating the uptake of car subscription and growing the awareness of Carly as a household brand.
“Her focus will be on cementing Carly’s position as the new way for the Australian automotive industry to engage with the changing needs of Australian drivers.
“Carly quickly established itself as the most flexible car subscription service in less than a year in the emerging car subscription sector. In defiance of recent economic uncertainty, Australians are turning to Carly as the safer, low-risk alternative to car ownership because it offers the flexibility to pause or stop their subscription as determined by their personal financial circumstances. They can have cars on their own terms, which is more important than ever,” adds Chris.
Jessica says she is thrilled to be part of a business that is providing real value to consumers while simultaneously driving a wider cultural shift, as many industries move toward subscription-based business modelling.
“Not only does Carly represent the next evolution of traditional business models, it also makes sense. People, more than ever before, are living much more fluid lifestyles, and businesses need to be able to provide their customers with options to accommodate these new and often less permanent behaviours,” explains Jessica.
Carly launched in Sydney in March 2019, and quickly expanded into Melbourne. The service then launched in Brisbane and the Gold Coast in February 2020, establishing its presence across the Australian eastern seaboard. Carly has plans in place to launch into New Zealand once lockdown restrictions are lifted.
