The Best Way To Keep People Inside? Billboards With Netflix Spoilers

As the NSW government introduces strict penalties for going outside unnecessarily, two advertising students have thought up a far more creative way to keep people indoors.

Fifth quarter student at the Miami Ad School Seine Kongruangkit and recent graduate Matithorn Prachuabmoh Chaimoungkalo have imagined a clever outdoor campaign based around the ultimate deterrent: Netflix spoilers.

“What happens when people are supposed to stay home to help combat the spread of COVID-19 but don’t?! You get spoilers of your fav Netflix shows,” said Miama Ad School on Instagram.

The logic is simple. Those who are going outside are spoiling the COVID-19 response, so why not spoil something for them?

The fake campaign targets “trending Netflix originals”, such as Stranger ThingsLove is Blind and Narcos.

It isn’t pure evil, however.

Potential commuters are warned they are about to be bombarded with spoilers and given the option to save their binge watching and return home.
