ARN Breakfast Hosts Depart

ARN has announced the departure of Brisbane’s 97.3FM breakfast show hosts Mike Van Acker and Bianca Dye.

Dye, Van Acker and the show’s executive produce Liam Renront will leave the breakfast slot, while Bob Gallagher will remain.

In a statement, ARN said it was working to take the show in a “different direction”.

While Dye is leaving the breaky slot, she will remain with the network in 2020 in a new capacity. Van Acker has been apart of the 97.3FM breakfast show for two years, and B&T understands will not remain with the network.

The new line-up has yet to be announced.

ARN also lost WSFM content director Scott Muller, a position he held since January 2018. B&T understands it was Muller’s choice to leave the network and was not made redundant.

The changes come during a rocky time for the radio industry. Earlier this week, SCA made up to 90 people redundant in a nation-wide restructure. Triple M’s Australia by Night was axed in the process, and it still remains unclear the other roles or programs that have been affected.
