“Not Cheap” iPhone 8 Leaked Ahead Of 12th September Launch

Photographs of Apple’s tenth anniversary iPhone have apparently been leaked online ahead of its global launch planned for September 12th in the US.

Images of the new handset were apparently shown on the Chinese social media site Weibo and appear to show that the charging cable will follow the headphones and go wireless. The iPhone is manufactured in China.

It has been speculated that Apple will launch three different versions of the phone, including updated versions of the two iPhone 7 models that launched last Septemeber. An industry insider has said the new models will “not be cheap due to the high manufacturing costs”.

There will also be a signature (and apparently rather pricey) larger version to celebrate the phone’s decade anniversary. It will feature a much larger screen and an edge-to-edge display, facial-recognition technology that unlocks the device, and augmented-reality capabilities.

Apple’s announcement is scheduled to happen seven days after sales start in the US for Samsung Electronics Co’s Galaxy Note 8.

The company is also expected to unveil its new Apple Watch which reportedly has an LTE cellular chip that allows it to pull data from wireless services, meaning the device is lees reliant on the iPhone to transmit emails, texts and calls.
