Clems Melbourne And NAB Draft The Next Mini Legends

The 2017 NAB Mini Legends Draft, created by NAB and Clemenger BBDO Melbourne, has now been completed, with more than 550 of Australia’s mini sporting legends vying for a spot on the team.

Launched in June, the Draft saw a public call-out for kids to star in this year’s campaign by submitting a video audition of them emulating their favourite footy player.

The lucky stars will now feature in the next phase of the campaign, launching on Friday 18 August 2017, which will feature a mini Dustin Martin, mini Moana Hope, mini Nic Naitanui, and mini Eddie Betts.

NAB general manager of Brand Experience, Michael Nearhos, said the NAB Mini Legends activity is driven by NAB’s passion to support the kids, players and fans of AFL.

“Following the success of last year’s campaign, we’re very excited to bring it back with a few new twists,” Nearhos said.

The campaign, launching across TV, print, digital and social channels, captures NAB’s commitment to supporting footballers from NAB AFL Auskick through to the big time in the AFL and the AFLW.

NAB chief marketing officer, Andrew Knott, said he was excited to see the second round of NAB Mini Legends come to life.

“We’re excited to be launching our next NAB Mini Legends campaign that captures NAB’s support of footy at all levels. Through our partnership, we back kids as they play their first game of Auskick right through to the big time, whether that be in the AFL or the AFLW,” Knott said.

Creative director of Clemenger BBDO Melbourne, Rich Williams, said the level of interest in the NAB Mini Legends Draft competition was fantastic.

“The response was incredible. The campaign really brings to life everything that’s great about the game. We hope to continue to inspire the next generation of AFL and AFLW stars through this activity,” Mr Williams said.

NAB has partnered with AFL since 2002, and has sponsored Auskick since 2006. NAB also sponsors NAB AFL Academy and NAB AFL Rising Star. Earlier this year, NAB proudly became the naming rights sponsor for the NAB AFL Women’s competition.
