Pepsi Max’s first pop-up dining concept in Australia has proved a hit in Sydney, with a sell-out four-day run.

The Vanilla Kitchen opened for three days at Chippendale in Sydney earlier this month. Designed by Mitch Orr (ACME), Jimmy Hurlston (Guilty, Easey’s), Andy Bowdy (Andy Bowdy Pastry, Saga) and Andres Walters (The Lobo Plantation, The Kittyhawke), the pop-up offered visitors the ultimate culinary journey.

With the talent known for their unconventional and trailblazing cuisine, the menu was specially designed to push the limits of vanilla, seeking inspiration from Pepsi Max’s newest flavour variant, Pepsi Max Vanilla.

The team worked their gastronomic magic on the three course menu, exclusively for The Vanilla Kitchen, which recreated classics in ingenious ways, alongside Andre’s mixology creations, complementing each plate perfectly.

Visitors were met with unexpected surprises at every stage of their flavour journey, with The Old Rum Store on Kensington Street transformed into an immersive dining environment, which was anything but vanilla.

To allow people to enjoy the menu in the comfort of their own home, The Vanilla Kitchen partnered with Deliveroo, who delivered meals together with free samples of Pepsi Max Vanilla during the three-day event.

Brad Van Dijk, senior director of beverages in Australia and New Zealand at PepsiCo said The Vanilla Kitchen was designed to surprise and delight consumers seeking a new and exciting dining experience.

“We wanted to celebrate the success of Pepsi Max Vanilla in a way that was big and bold, and we think bringing together four of the country’s most eminent food and drink talent was a fantastic way to do this,” he said.

“Launching The Vanilla Kitchen in Sydney was a proud moment, as we seek to deliver new flavour experiences for our consumers.”

Pepsi Max Vanilla launched in February 2017.
