Archibald/Williams Appointed To Launch The NRL’s 2016 Season

The NRL has appointed Archibald / Williams to launch the 2016 Telstra Premiership NRL season. The account was won following a competitive pitch against three other unnamed agencies. Billings are undisclosed.

Archibald / Williams was awarded the account based on the strength of their strategy and creative ideas. Bram Williams, co-founder of Archibald / Williams said: “It’s the greatest honour to be given the opportunity to work in service of the greatest game of all.”

Being the dominant Winter sport in NSW, Qld and the ACT, rugby league remains the most watched sport on Australian television. The season launch is hailed as the flagship campaign for the NRL, and will in turn provide the platform to kick off the entire season.

The launch, taking place in February 2016, will encompass a fully integrated national campaign around TV, press, digital and social with a prime objective to build anticipation for the commencement of the 2016 season.

The agency will also be involved in preparing retail campaigns for the marquee rounds on the Easter Weekend and ANZAC Day.
