After Kyle Sandilands turned up at The Australian Commercial Radio Awards to accept his lifetime achievement award, his previous negative comments about the awards have resurfaced – whoops!
In 2018, Sandilands complained about the event after he was asked why he didn’t turn up to accept an award he’d won.
Sandilands and his KIIS FM 106.5 breakfast show co-host Jackie “O” Henderson won the Best On-Air Team (Metro FM) category at the 30th annual ACRAs on Saturday night in Melbourne, and neither turned up to accept it.
When quizzed on why he didn’t bother turning up, Sandilands, in true Sandilands style, didn’t hold back.
He said: “It’s a piece of sh*t event – that’s why I never go!
“It’s one of the world’s most boring events. It’s the most boring, long, drawn-out, ‘Yes, I know I’m going to win…’”
Of course, these comments are being drudged up now because Sandilands was front and centre in accepting his Lifetime Achievement Award.
He even shared a funny story about why he has never been fired despite his many controversies.
I guess everyone has the right to change their mind? Right.
