The Queen’s Platinum bash aside, anyone who keeps an eye on news out of the UK would know the current Tory government is well and truly on the nose at the moment with the British PM, Boris Johnson, narrowly surviving a no-confidence motion overnight.

So when a Sky newsreader accidentally called a Tory MP a “c*nt” during a live report on Monday evening many took it for more than just a Freudian slip.

TV anchor Sophy Ridge was discussing comments made by Tory politician Jeremy Hunt who voted against  Johnson in the no-confidence motion when she mangled Hunt’s surname, instead referencing the highly derogatory name for female genitalia.

Either the consummate professional or with an axe to grind, Ridge didn’t miss a beat after uttering the expletive.

Oh GOD Sky News just said “Jeremy C**t” and the presenter didn’t even notice pic.twitter.com/9Z50g4RcSG

— Scott Bryan (@scottygb) June 6, 2022

Fellow journalist Scott Bryan was one of the people who posted the clip on Twitter, writing: “Oh GOD Sky News just said “Jeremy C**t” and the presenter didn’t even notice.”

Another posted: “Presenters must think ‘I must get this right. I mustn’t make a mistake’ and then they end up inadvertently saying it! Oh dear!”

“Amazing – and just keeps going as if nothing has happened,” another said.
