Facebook Australia is celebrating Ramadan with a range of initiatives including Lives, Reels, IGTV and more.
To launch the initiative, Facebook has partnered with a number of Muslim creators and organisations, who will be sharing their perspectives of the holy month on both Facebook and Instagram.
Facebook says the 30 days of content is part of its “commitment to a diversity of local communities”. It builds on similar initiatives in previous years.
Some of the specially catered content includes;
- Ramadan food ideas on Instagram Reels with Masterchef finalist Amina Elshafei
- An Instagram Live on beauty and style ahead of Eid with modest fashion creator @nawalsari
- Model @monakhalifaxo on inspiring good deeds during Ramadan on Instagram Reels
- Advocacy group @muslimwomenaustralia sharing energy boosting tips during Ramadan
- Halal restaurant aficionados @halaladvisor on recipe ideas and how local restaurants are preparing for Ramadan
- Academic and UNICEF ambassador Susan Carland sharing a “Day in the Life During Ramadan” IGTV video
While Facebook Australia has previously supported Ramadan, 2021 marks the first year the social media company has been able to do so through Instagram Reels.
After officially launching in August of last year, Instagram Reels are already proving popular, with users able to upload 15 to 30-second clips set to music on Instagram.
Just last month, Instagram added the ‘Remix’ feature to give users the ability to create Reels alongside a pre-existing Reel, similar to TikTok’s ‘Duet’ mode.
