Australian telehealth and online prescription service, InstantScripts has announced its appointment of Richard Skimin as its new chief operating officer.

Skimin joins from News Corp where he was managing director of news.com.au and eCommerce.

Under his leadership, news.com.au became one of the country’s most-read news sites, while the eCommerce business recorded noticeable growth.

Skimin will now be responsible for bolstering InstantScripts’ strategic growth agenda, and ensuring the healthcare startup’s functions are aligned with customer’s changing needs and expectations.

“The healthcare sector has been part of my career journey,” said Skimin.

“We have an opportunity to lead the world in the way we deliver healthcare solutions at scale both here and internationally.

“I am particularly looking forward to working with InstantScripts co-founder Dr Asher Freilich, a natural entrepreneur and healthcare thought leader.”

Dr Freilich added: “We are thrilled to welcome Richard to the InstantScripts leadership team. With Richard at the helm leading all areas of our operations, InstantScripts will accelerate its path of fast and sustained growth.”

The new hire adds to InstantScripts’ solid past 12-months, during which the health tech platform recorded over 1000 per cent revenue growth and scored first and second rankings in the SmartCompany Smart50 Awards and the AFR Fast Starters List, respectively.
