Google Plays For Laughs & Gives You 113 Reasons To Buy Its New Phone In Epic New Ad

As techy aficionados would know, Google’s new Pixel 6 series phone has just dropped and many are calling it an “Apple buster” at a top price.

However, the tech giant is still spruiking the merits of its mid-range Pixel 5a phone and has just released an epic, almost nine-minute long ad for the device that gives you a whopping 113 reasons why the 5a should be on your shopping list.

The spot offers some genuine reasons to buy the phone – call screen, excellent Google service integration, photos and lens, etc. The usual spiel.

Then there’s some even dafter ones, such as using the device as a charcuterie board, using the phone while baking a pie (reasoning: “Pixel” is just two letters away from “pie”), or getting a free pickle because Pixel sounds like pickle!

The spot also takes some jabs at competitors LG and Samsung. It’s the “best phone to switch to when the maker of your old phone stops making phones” (LG stopped making phones in January) and Google is best “known for organising the web and mapping the world,” and not the one known for making washing machines!

Check out the spot below. But again, you’re going to need to give yourself a good nine minutes.
