Don’t Miss Out! Register Now For B&T’s Changing The Ratio Webinar
Our second Changing the Ratio event will be taking place as a webinar – make sure you tune in!
After the blazing success of the first Changing the Ratio breakfast earlier this year, we’ve settled on a date for our second.
That’s right, tune in on the 12th of August at 10 am for Changing the Ratio round two: the webinar!
Due to COVID, we’ve moved online, but never fear, the content is still just as brilliant, and as important.
For anyone unfamiliar with CTR – presented by IVE – it shines a light on how our industry can better celebrate and support diversity and inclusion. As well as our events, we also share exclusive content on B&T too.
At each event, we focus on different pillars in the D&I space, including topics like gender, disability, ethnicity and sexuality with some of the brightest stars of our industry. The events, whether irl or online, are also always free, giving everyone the chance to hear from the people leading the way on inclusion.
Our second breakfast is brought to you by 10 ViacomCBS, who are hosting a session called ‘Broadening the Spectrum: LGBTI+ in Media’.
The phrase “if you can see it, you can be it” is often used when talking about diversity, equity and inclusion. But just how well does that play amongst the national broadcasters and wider media today?
Three LGBTI+ pathfinders from 10 ViacomCBS describe their own stories, their experiences, predictions and opportunities for minorities in the media going forward, in this thought-provoking insight on DE&I at Australia’s most young at heart network.
The panel will feature 10 News First researcher and news producer Kate Doak, senior legal counsel for 10 ViacomCBS Myles Farley and news presenter for 10 News First and Studio 10, Narelda Jacobs.
Doak is a passionate storyteller and a country girl at heart, who knows what it’s like to be ‘different’ after having to hide her sexuality and gender identity growing up in a small town. She views it as her duty to help young LGBTI people see a future for themselves.
Farley led the Melbourne arm of his law firm’s employee LGBTQIA+ committee and is also a board member of RAWCUS, a theatre and arts organisation with a critically acclaimed ensemble of performers with diverse minds, bodies and imaginations.
Finally, 10 journalist Jacobs has established herself as a prominent identity in both the national and her local Perth community. Using her platform at 10, Jacobs has expressed her views on both LGBTQI and Aboriginal issues to a national audience, and has co-hosted SBS’s Mardi Gras parade for the past two years.
It is sure to be an absolutely wonderful session, and we can’t wait to hear the panellists’ insights.
So, don’t forget to register HERE! Make sure you don’t miss out: remember, 12th August at 10am. We’ll see you there!
