Zara’s “Weird” Underwater Ad Pulled Following Online Mockery

Fashion giant Zara has reportedly removed an ad that showed a model submerged in water while promoting a dress.

The ad went viral last week, after a TikTok video was shared asking if “anyone had checked in on Zara’s marketing team”.

According to Pedestrian.TV, the ad for the tiered poplin dress can no longer be found online and has been replaced with an above-water image.

However, it seems Zara’s attempt at underwater modeling was not limited to the one garment.

Social media is now full of various screenshots of people responding to the content.

It’s not the first time social media has poked fun at Zara’s advertising strategies.

Early last year, social media took great delight in Zara’s decision to model a pair of jeans without an actual model.

“Times are so hard at Zara they’ve had to employ Charlie Chaplin’s ghost to model for them,” one person said.
