The family of Kelly Wilkinson, who was allegedly murdered by her estranged husband, will be supported by Domino’s branches in the Gold Coast, where she lived.

Wilkinson, who was a mother of three, was found in her backyard having allegedly been set alight by her estranged husband. He has been charged with her murder, and for breaching a domestic violence order.

As Australia grapples with a persistent crisis of violence against women, Wilkinson’s death has rocked the local Gold Coast community. She is the tenth woman to have been killed due to violence against women this year, according to the Counting Dead Women Australia register.

The family of Kelly Wilkinson has set up a Go Fund Me titled ‘Help Kelly’s Children’, to help raise money for the funeral, her children’s schooling and for other costs.

It has raised $115,358 so far – more than double its original goal of $50,000.

Now, Domino’s branches in the Gold Coast have committed to raising money for the family too. More than two dozen Domino’s stores will participate in a fundraiser next Wednesday, April 28th.

Thomas Walker, who owns nine Domino’s franchises on the Gold Coast, wrote on social media that he wanted “to do everything [he] can” to help the family.

“I’ve had a chat to some of the neighbouring Domino’s franchisees all the way from Ormeau to Tweed Heads, and they have all agreed to try and raise as much money for the family as possible.”

“Next Wednesday, we will be holding a ‘doughraiser’ across 26 stores to raise some much needed funds for the family.

“Domino’s head office will also be matching the amount raised dollar for dollar … I would appreciate any support you can offer to help raise awareness and much-needed funds for the Wilkinson family.”

The stores participating in the fundraiser are: Ashmore, Biggera Waters, Broadbeach, Coolangatta, Coomera East, Crestwood Plaza, Hope Island, Mermaid Beach, Miami, Mudgeerable, Nerang, Oxenford, Pacific Pines, Palm Beach, Rpbina, Runaway Bay, Southport, Surfers Paradise, Surfers Paradise South, Tugun, Tweed Heads, West Burleigh, Westfield Helensvale, Upper Coomera, Pimpama and Ormeau.
