Lisa Wilkinson Guest Edits News’ ‘Stellar’ For International Women’s Day

News Corp Australia’s Sunday magazine, Stellar, has welcomed Lisa Wilkinson as guest editor of its International Women’s Day themed issue this Sunday.

It’s been two decades since The Project co-host left behind a successful career in magazines to become one of the most popular and respected figures on Australian television.

Stellar’s editor-in-chief Sarrah Le Marquand said Wilkinson was one of the most admired women in Australian media and a voice that Stellar r eaders know and trust.

“Since its launch in 2016, Stellar has sought to redefine what readers can come to expect from a weekly magazine in terms of delivering a rare mix of agenda-setting and exclusive interviews with beautiful fashion photography and lifestyle content.

“With our DNA firmly entrenched in telling the stories of Australian women in a news-driven yet elevated fashion, turning to Lisa Wilkinson – one of the most innovative and respected figures in media – and asking her to revisit her previous life as a magazine editor, felt like the perfect way to celebrate International Women’s Day.”

Wilkinson said Stellar feels exactly like the magazine that she was trying to create in the ’80s and ’90s with Cleo.

“It’s about good journalism, great profile pieces, fashion and features that inspire, lives you’re fascinated by – all wrapped up in that one regular bundle of pages. Sarrah has done the most incredible job of every week bringing the best of what magazines for women can offer. You feel better for the experience, not worse. It is positive.”

The issue also features Candace Bushnell – columnist, author and driving force behind Sex and the City – as well as nine high-profile male media personalities Wilkinson admires, who each share their thoughts on the role they believe men can play in achieving greater gender equality.

Other features in the special issue include profiles of stand-up turned author Jean Kittson; sports presenter Yvonne Sampson; adolescent educator Dannielle Miller; and a fashion shoot with Australian singer Montaigne ahead of her Eurovision debut; while delicious. on Sunday features chef Shannon Martinez and Matt Preston pays tribute to the women who inspired him.

Stellar’s International Women’s Day issue will be published in this weekend’s editions of The Sunday Telegraph and Sunday Herald Sun.
