Sunday TV Wrap: Fire Fight Australia Concert Douses Seven’s Woes

Sunday was a good day for bushfire relief organisations and in turn, a good day for Seven.

Seven was the official broadcaster of Fire Fight Australia Concert, a national bushfire relief concert held at ANZ Stadium on Sunday 16 Feb. Funds raised from the event will go towards the countless homes destroyed and animals killed in the bushfires that have devastated Australia.

A fantastic initiative (and by all accounts a fantastic concert, too), Fire Fight Australia Concert also put a halt to Seven’s woes, with the broadcaster struggling through summer and the start of ratings season.

Seven’s primary channel won the night with 31.0 per cent. Meanwhile, Nine’s main channel did 24.1 per cent, and 10 did 7.2 per cent, according to OzTAM metro numbers.

The late session of the concert pulled an audience of just over one million, while the overall broadcast averaged 953,000. Over at Nine, no surprises that MAFS was the most-watched show of the night across metro cities, with 1.1 million Aussies tuning in. 10’s best of the night was Dancing With the Stars with 348,000 viewers.

Here’s how the rest of the night ran.
